International Monster Day

This morning I am trying to get into the Monster Mood, normally I create sweet sock monkeys. Fellow crafters on Facebook have decided that Monsters need their own special day to celebrate so I have decided to join in.  Normally I try to avoid black ugly looking things but I have been informed that Monsters can take many shapes and forms even friendly cuddly ones. The nearest I have come up with is the Scrappy Gang but they are not really monsters just .........."Scraps"

So far my efforts have not been very successful I need to transport my thoughts to another level and will most probably have a sleep less night tonight. Off to the drawing board will report later if it works...

Monday Morning Blues

Off we go on another week here at Monkeygang Jungle many exciting things in the pipeline. Sock monkeys and babies up for sale for Mother's Day presents Easter designs on the drawing board .

I have a meeting this week with another children's photographer who is interested in using my Sockies as props for his photos. On Friday I received a great update  review from a teacher who uses many of my Sock monkeys as a teaching aid. They are also used to encourage Special Needs children to learn.

Using up the scraps

Over the last few years I have made hundreds of Sock Monkeys from new modern socks.  This has resulted in baskets of scraps, these vary in size and colours.

In the past I have used them for stuffing cushions, sock pillows and many other projects. The other day I was playing around with an idea and this was when The Sock Scrappy Gang was created. This has gradually evolved and more designs will be added over time.
